Requirements
|

The minimum requirements for VPA pilots are:
- Each pilot must be registered as a member of the Volunteer Pilots
Association.
- Each pilot must hold at least a private pilot certificate and a
current medical.
- Copies of the pilot's license, current medical certificate, last
page of the pilot's logbook showing current total time, and
any page(s) showing additional ratings and signoffs must also be
on file at the Volunteer Pilots Association offices.
- To act as Pilot-in Command of any flight under VFR conditions, the
pilot must be current according to FAA regulations and have a minimum
of 200 hours PIC time, including a minimum of ten (10) hours PIC time
in the type of aircraft to be flown.
- To act as PIC of any flight under IFR conditions, the pilot must be
current according to FAA regulations and must have a minimum of 250
hours of PIC time, including a minimum of twenty (20) hours PIC time
in the type of aircraft to be flown.
- Second-in-command ("right seat") pilots under VFR conditions must have
a private pilot certificate.
- Second-in-command ("right seat") pilots under IFR conditions must have
a minimum of 200 hours total time and a current instrument rating.
